Words can't even begin to explain how amazing my friends are or how much I'm truly grateful to have them in my life.
Last weekend I decided to chuck a hotel party for my 17th, I knew all the risks but I'm the type of girl that usually wings everything in life. So on the 11th of September, I arrived at my hotel, checked in and headed up to room 102 - the room where I would have all the wonderful memories of my 17th birthday in. The room was massive, beautiful, classy, which made me stress even more about damages and fines. I stressed about food and drinks but mostly the amount of people coming to celebrate with me tonight. It was hard choosing a limited amount of friends to attend, I honestly wanted everyone to come have fun with me.
8pm - texts and calls from people telling me that they were on floor one and waiting for me to open the door for them, I had to run in and out every 5 minutes. Everyone came in, socialised, munched on snacks and waited for me to open drinks.
9pm - the main doors of the hotel closed and the last few people who made it before 9pm walked into the room with me. I opened all the drinks and started a game of beer pong, everyone gathered around and either watched or joined in. As that was happening people outside were still waiting for me to open the door for them, so once again I was in and out of the room every 5 minutes.
9.30pm - the people at reception called for the 4th time and informed me about a $300 fine I was receiving for people smoking on the balcony and that she wanted everyone except the hotel guests to leave in 5 minutes. Tears of anger filled my eyes as I thought about how I was gonna pay off the fine. I wasn't gonna let a receptionist tell my friends to get out of my party and ruin my birthday, I turned up the music and told everyone to continue with whatever they were doing.
10pm - we all ended up migrating to Melody because a bunch of people who couldn't get through the front doors couldn't get up to my room. So we ended up shoving 50+ people in a 20 people room and continued the party in there.
2am - migrated back to the hotel
7am - woke up to clean up the hotel spotless
10am - checked out and had a word with the receptionist about my fine and got him to drop it
My birthday was a disaster for me, but I realised that it didn't matter, because at the end of the day everything worked out even if things didn't go perfectly according to plan. I know I was upset most of the night because the hotel fucked up but everyone still managed to cheer me up and had a great time with me. I knew I had fun if all my friends had fun, which apparently they did after hearing half of them came high and the other half got drunk off their faces.
I want to thank everyone for coming out and celebrating my 17th with me, it really was an experience and I'm glad you all had a blast! Thanks everyone for singing happy birthday to me like 6 times that night haha thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes on Facebook, all the texts and phone calls. Biggest thank you to Vivian, Calum and Diane - my party would've been over before it even started if it weren't for them. I love them with all my heart, honestly. Diane wrote a birthday message to me on her →
